Description
Belhaven University, a Christian liberal arts university in Jackson, Mississippi, is seeking a full-time faculty member in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to join the School of Mathematics & Science. This position is primarily focused on teaching and curriculum development, with an emphasis on undergraduate and graduate instruction in AI, machine learning, and data science. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mentoring students, integrating AI into real-world applications, and engaging in interdisciplinary collaborations within the university.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Artificial Intelligence, including but not limited to Machine Learning, Deep Learning, AI Ethics, Natural Language Processing, and AI Applications.
Develop and refine AI course content, ensuring alignment with industry standards and ethical considerations.
Advise and mentor students in academic and career development related to AI fields.
Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to integrate AI into various fields of study. Support the School of Mathematics & Science in the development of an AI curriculum, including potential concentrations or certificates
Engage in service to the university, such as participation in faculty committees, curriculum assessment, and student recruitment efforts. Stay current with advancements in AI education and pedagogy, integrating best practices into teaching.
Participate in limited scholarly activities, such as presenting at academic conferences, engaging in industry partnerships, or publishing educational research on AI pedagogy (though research is not the primary focus).
