Wanted:
Property Loss Prevention Engineer to work based out of the Metropolitan Chicago area.
Responsibilities:
Risk Logic Incorporated (RLI) would like to hire a Property Loss Prevention Consultant who will be able to conduct Highly Protected Risk “HPR” type property loss prevention surveys and write technical reports. The applicant will need to work from home. The position includes regular overnight travel throughout the Midwest US (approximately five (5) nights per month) including one or two international trips annually. Account review and plan responsibilities will involve 20% of the position’s workload. Primary responsibilities will include conducting property loss prevention and fire protection analyses with detailed Construction / Occupancy / Protection / Exposure (“COPE”) information and analysis of natural hazard exposures. The technical risk analyses will be conducted for large commercial and industrial facilities in the U.S. and abroad.
Work Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years work experience at FM Global.
Required Education and Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college / university
• PE license a plus
Position Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years work experience at FM Global
• Determine adequacy of automatic fire protection systems and water supplies for wide range of manufacturing and storage occupancies
• Analysis of natural hazard exposures and existing protection against
• Develop recommendations for improvement as needed using applicable standards
• Expertise in calculating NLE’s, PML’s, and MFL’s
• Understanding of FM Global standards and NFPA codes
• Strong technical writing skills
• Self motivated person who can work efficiently from a home office
• Understanding of Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel
• Communicate daily via email and telephone
• Adequate interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with various clients
