Company History
Since we first opened our doors in 1963, Summer Consultants has been solving our clients’ most challenging problems with efficiency, creativity, and professionalism. A designated small business entity (SBE), we’ve built one of the most talented teams of MEP/FP experts in our area of focus, and we have a reputation for getting the job done right — no matter how complicated it is. As a result, we have one of the strongest referral rates in the industry.
A powerful focus on government, institutions and higher education: We are an MEP/FP engineering firm licensed in DC and surrounding states, where we specialize in government, institutional, and higher education clients — including historic properties and older federal buildings. Our talents really shine when we tackle older, complex, often occupied facilities, which can be tricky to bring up to modern standards of safety and comfort. Extensive prime and subcontractor experience: The majority of our work is IDIQ contracts, and many of our clients engage us for multi-year contracts. Unlike most SBE MEP/FP engineering firms, we’re hired as the prime consultant on 70% of our projects. But we make an excellent subcontractor, as well. Our prime experience has taught us what it takes to be an exceptional teaming partner.
